There's gonna be five main components to flat towing your vehicle behind your RV. The first is gonna be your base plate which is going to attach to our vehicle. Next is going to be our tow bar which is going to attach the RV to the vehicle so it can pull it safely down the road. Hi there flat towers inaudible 00:00:01 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue ox's base plate. The majority of it's completely hidden behind our fascia with some small portions for our attachments that poke through right through here. That requires very minimal to no trimming. We only had to make a very slight modification here and the only reason we had to do that was for our braking system components. This provides you with all the necessary connections you need for flat towing. It gives you your safety cable hookups, as well as your point for your tow bar to attach. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the DEMCO tabless base plate kit on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. Now whenever you're wanting to tow your Colorado behind your motor home, a base plate is going be necessary so we have somewhere solid to hook up our tow bar so we can safely get down the road.And this is what our base plate's going to look like once we have it installed. You can see it has a really clean appearance, because we're only going to see a little bit of it sticking out right here right where our tow hooks were, because it's actually going to replace the factory tow hooks. Now each side of the base plate is going to bolt directly to the frame. So we'll have a really solid connection point. And as you can see here, we're going to have this cover here. more

Here's what our base plate looks like installed. It's a really sleek design. You see it just sits inside this recessed area, right where our tow hooks were. It doesn't even stick out past it, so you can hardly even notice that it's there. It doesn't really even look any different than factory.This round part here is where our removable arm is inserted to, and off towards the center of the vehicle we have our safety chain and cable attachment point right here. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster easy four baseplate kit with removable arms, part number RM-523182-4.This is what our baseplate looks like when it's installed. As you can see, it's gonna sit nice and tucked in underneath our fascia. It's not gonna stick out too far. It also is gonna come through the holes on our tow hooks or where our tow hooks were, so we're not gonna do any cutting or modifications on our fascia itself. It's gonna have a nice, black powder coat finish to resist any rusting and corrosion. You can see here, this is where your safety chain rings or safety chain hooks would attach. more

Here's what it looks like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's very well hidden and it's well hidden because it replaces the factory tow hooks. Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado 4WD, we're going to take a look at, and then show you how to install, the Blue Ox base plate kit with removable arms. This is part number BX1721. This is going to work for the Chevy Colorado 4WD with or without the adaptive cruise control, and also for the 2015 GMC Canyon 4WD with or without the adaptive cruise control. Basically, you can see the kit all spread out here. That's the main part of the unit, that's going to be the actual base plate itself. We've got our removable arms here. This is a really good custom fit design, so we're going to have the spacers that fit right into the factory holes there. more

Roadmaster Base Plate Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Today on this 2010 Chevrolet Colorado you are going to be installing Roadmaster Base Plate Kit part number 3122-1. Before you get started with the installation you want to take a quick look over the front of your vehicle to see which features your vehicle has, depending on these features you may have to do a couple of different things which are referenced in the instructions. You can see this particular vehicle has the factory installed tow hooks and this one also has the factory installed skid plate as well. The third one is the auxiliary air pump which again this vehicle does have. It can be easier seen with the skid plate removed. The first thing I am going to do is remove the tow hooks and the skid plate. On the tow hooks depending on your model you may have one or two mounting bolts holding them in place. 00:48 more
